The head of a Rock Crab shell found on the shores of the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick Canada.
It has been washed, and sterilized then filled with clay to give it some weight and protect the shell from collapse. It is then painted with pearl enamel and gold enamel along the fringe to highlight the detail in the shell, then embellished with pearls and gold beads.
This beautiful piece of jewelry hangs approximately 1.5 inches in length.
